However\, (mini) edularps\, learning scenarios or simulations would also be appropriate terms. In other words\, interacti ve game formats that attempt to approach certain personal\, social or hist orical topics through the embodiment of roles\, scenic game mechanics or a n artistic-spatial experience. The combination of jointly agreed rules\, c reative or conflict-orientated role play and a joint evaluation of the con tent creates intensive experiences and enables new perspectives or emotion al approaches to previously less considered topics. The tone of the games is sometimes silly\, sometimes profound\, sometimes co-operative and somet imes confrontational – but above all always a shared experience and an e ncounter between people at eye level.\n\nThe thematic leitmotif this year is „Rethinking Habits“ –\nthis can be found in the themes of the Dra ma Games\, but also in the talks and discussions.\n\nAt the Drama Game Fes tival you can:\n\n Get to know (new) Drama Games/ Edularps\n Present you r own Drama Games/ Edularps\n Get an introduction to Edularp as a method\ n Try out ideas that arise spontaneously\n Play other games in the open programme (board games\, escape games\, mini larps for fun\, …)\n Meet nice\, open and fun-loving people\n Spend a cosy weekend away from the us ual hustle and bustle just before Christmas\n Bring your family and child ren\n Celebrate\, dance\, make music\n\nORGANISATIONAL FRAMEWORK\nThe Dra ma Game takes place from 18-21 December 2025 in the\nWaldritter Creative.C ampus (Ewaldstr. 20\, 45699 Herten – Germany).\n\nAccommodation is offer ed in shared rooms in the Herten educational centre – a simple meal incl uding water is included. Additional drinks are available on site at cost p rice.\n\n! At the moment\, the fire alarm system and technical installatio ns are being serviced in the spaceship area and the bedrooms above it –\ nwe expect the rooms to be usable again by the time the festival starts\, but for now we are planning to use the bedrooms and seminar rooms in the L udothek building\, which means\nthere will be fewer places available – s o it's best to register quickly! We will keep you up to date with the late st plans.\n\nFor our international guests: There might be some games that are announced or played only in german –\nwe will offer at least one gam e slot in english\, but most of the game runners are really nice\, so don ’t dare to ask\, if you are interested to join a game and we’ll try ou r best to bring you in.\n\nWe see ourselves as a family-friendly festival\ , which is why children and young people under the age of 12 can participa te free of charge – even if many drama games may be less suitable\, ther e are good alternatives for younger visitors with the Ludothek and jointly organised kids‘ activities.\n\nDRAMA GAMES\nWe will put together and of fer a colourful selection of drama games – but we also hope that we have motivated participants and will approach game masters in advance so that there will be a broad basic offer for each programme block. However\, game leaders and participants can also make spontaneous appointments on site ( especially in the evening area) and thus enrich the programme individually . We are also happy to create spaces for other games and provide you with any materials you may need. Please let us know when you register if you ar e thinking of contributing something to the programme so that we can plan ahead.\n\nWORKSHOPS / SESSIONS / DISCUSSION\nIn addition to „finished“ games and ready-to-play games\, we also want to offer a space to exchange ideas on certain topics\, games or concepts\, to try out or discuss thing s that may only exist in a beta version. These topics and game approaches can come from you or result in part from the work of „LarpwriterSummerca mp authors“ and from the „edularp:network“. Your opinion and willing ness to experiment are called for here – let us know if you would like t o bring along a game experiment.\n\n„KIDS“ OFFERS\nWe know that it wil l probably not be possible to organise a continuous offer\, especially for smaller children. Nevertheless\, there are a few interesting play approac hes that are suitable for children. We try to react flexibly to family sit uations and involve as many big and small guests as possible – further i deas and offers are of course very welcome.\n\nFESTIVAL EVENTS\nSometimes it’s just nicer to do things together than alone – this can be chattin g\, playing board games or baking biscuits\, mixing cocktails together or dancing together\, listening to music or watching films… there are no li mits to the imagination here.
